I used to love the original Sims game on PC (Ten years ago now) and I’ve not played it since then. One of the reasons I got into Home on the PS3 was because it reminded me of the Sims. So when Sims 3 was released for the PS3 I finally decided to pick it up again after all these years. And its still just as addictive as ever – and lots of fun!
Recently though one of my PS3 friends (Steven Dutch) who also owns the game was struck down by a game save bug – the game and his PS3 froze during a save, and now he can’t save at all! But he’s not alone, and nor does it seem to only affect PS3 users as Xbox users seem to get the Sims3 save bug too!
There was some discussion that it only affects you if you have clothes or items from the exchange, but other players have since revealed they have the bug and have not downloaded stuff. Now it seems that some players say the more you play the more likely it is to affect you (kinda obvious I know, but I think what they are saying is that as you progres and there is more stuff to save then its more likely to get bugged) For now i’m only playing offline just incase, and i’m making lots of saves and backing up to a usb stick!
Bugs like this are new to me… According to my friends on Twitter EA have not even acknowledge that the problem exists, and others have said that the bug also existed in the Sims 3 PC game!!!
I really do hope it gets sorted because everyone I know on the PS3 that has this game really loves it. Besides which I rarely buy full price games and i’d be livid if this happened to me and there was no way of fixing it. So please if you have this problem post in the forums below!!

I’m getting more visitors than ever searching for “Sims3 PS3 game save bug, Sims3 Xbox game save bug, glitch etc etc”
Also it seems that EA are giving out some pretty useless support for the Sims3, a few of my PS3 friends say they have been given instructions for fixes relating to the Xbox!! Also… those fixes don’t even seem to work for the Xbox!

Where companies like EA throw out untested products into the market with a care about whether they actually work… oh and if they don’t… you wont get any support from them or even any recognition that the problem actually exists.. prepare to be totally and utterly ignored.
Only solution is to return the game as faulty! Which, like most EA games it almost certainly is!
I was having lots of save bugs, so I sold my house and got a another but I did it at night with 3 of my sims sleeping, this did help me save more times before the bug came back again. When I re-bought that house 3 of the beds had glitched, they appear as if someone was sleeping in them which means they can’t be sold, moved, used or even burnt, this locks up the floor under it as well. Another one of my houses has a full size bed with one side of the bed frozen the same way but a sim can use the unfrozen side. I love this game hope EA gets a debugger patch out soon. I too hardly ever pay full price for games and after this happening I may think twice about buying new games
This bug is also on the Xbox 360 version. It’s not fair. EA better do something about this – I’m starting to really hate them.
The game save freeze happened to me after three days straight playing. Then again, then again.. Ive now put the game away and will be trading it in because EA are refusing to acknowledge the problem. There are so many forums complaining and reporting this issue but EA do nothing! Basically ther are robbing us our good money for a dad game that cant be payed. This game is worthless!
